Terms of Use

The Contract Whist app (“the app”) and this website are run by Michael Lewis. These terms are between you and us. Apple’s standard licence for apps also applies, and these terms add to it; where the two differ, Apple’s licence applies. Questions: contractwhistpro@gmail.com.

Whist Pro is a one-off purchase through the App Store, not a subscription: there’s nothing more to pay. It’s shared with your family through Family Sharing. On a new device, open Whist Pro and tap Restore Purchases. With Whist Pro you never see ads.

Apple takes the payment and handles refunds, at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Online games with other people, people watching a game (in the app or a browser), signing in, the League, ratings, trophies and Game History all use our servers.

Everything else works on your device without them: games against the computer, the Regulars’ tables, keeping score of a game played with real cards, and what Whist Pro adds to those (up to 7 players and the Regulars’ seven-player tables).

Now and then online play may be down for a short while, for maintenance or a fault. We put it right as quickly as we can.

We plan to keep online play running. If we ever decide to close it, we’ll give at least 6 months’ notice in the app and on this website, and online play will keep working until then.

Whatever happens, the parts of the app that don’t need our servers keep working, Whist Pro included.

Please don’t try to cheat, to break or overload the app or its servers, or to use someone else’s account. Names mustn’t be offensive: the app refuses some words, and we may change a name or block an account that breaks these rules.

Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer. If something you paid for doesn’t work as described, email us or ask Apple for a refund.

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
